troubles encoding with xvid to svcd

i cant encode the movie file i have with dvd2svcd, the progr says "couldn't locate decompressor for format XVID" (running the prog with TMPGEnc v2.59.47.155) well any help would be cool

can you play the file ? it suggests your xvid may not be installed correctly - i think ;)

movie works its just that dvd2svcd (tmp) CANT encode xvid files to become svcd so i basicly need something to make my xvid movie into a svcd movie hope someone can help

Firstly make sure you are using the latest build. Some older builds had mire difficulty with xvid. If you are using the latest version and still not getting anywhere do a forum search for "xvid decompressor" and you'll find links to xvid codec builds and ffdshow filters which, when installed, will definitely work. I have encoded many xvid movies to svcd. It DOES work! We just need to find why it isn't in your particular instance.

i have had probs with this in the past - ive also made posts like you asking for help there are a few different answers available if you search but the one that works for me is to open file in virtual dub and change the audio to uncompressed and save the avi for me converting to PCM audio fixes the conversion - i did 5 this weekend alone ;)
