Can anyone tell me where i can get a Mass Air Flow Sensor (MAF), for a 1999 (S Reg) S40 1.8i GDI. i have searched the web and pretty much come to a dead end, the one on the car at the moment is a Mitsubishi with the following numbers: 481 E5T08271 8911 I have no idea what these mean. Can anyone help. Cheers

Try Braydon Motors who are Volvo specialists. I've used them in the past and found them to be helpful and good value. New MAF meters can be expensive but if you phone Braydon's you might find they can send you a used MAF with a guarantee. Make sure they give you a guarantee and ask about its conditions. Through experience, I've found that they honour their guarantees. Otherwise a good hunt around the web by googling 'new MAF' or similar may reveal some useful sources - but do make sure you are getting a genuine part. I know some swear by e-bay. Hope this helps. do not buy the cheap maf sensors off ebay, i did and it was a complete waste of money. made the engine run so bad, the whole thing was vibrating the car to bits. replacement maf's must be genuine parts

I was wondering about the Mitsubishi ones - but being the GDI everything seems to be a bit of a **** up and neither Volvo or Mitsubishi want to be responsible for it, think that i may just try my hand there. cheers guys
