i guess the discs are worn, ie not flat you wont have to bleed the brakes , just bed the pads in they will come good in a day or so ....

you'll find new brakes "feel" a bit spongy. my prefered bleed method is a gunson self bleeding kit that connects onto the master cylinder and sucks the fluid in. failing that 3 pumps on the pedal , 2nd person releases nipple then tightens whilst the pedal is held down. repeat till happy or find a garage and ask for a brake fluid change.

self bleed kit without a doubt bleed the rears first any order then drivers front then passenger front

I recently replaced the discs and pads on my S60 and was as you described but driving round the blocked they started to bed in. On my wifes Fiat I firstly thought they needed bleed but after a bit of running bedded them in. If bleeding a rule was to do the furthest away bleed nipple from the master cylinder. I would of thought if you need to bleed the brakes you would only do the front ones. Best of luck.
