HIF44 Carb on my Amazon 131

Hi Guys, Can anyone tell me if I can convert from my stromberg CD175 to a single HIF44 as Im having issues with the Stromberg. Cheers, Robbie.

You've got one pot on 175 psi the others are down to 125. A new carb isn't going to conjure a fix out of thin air. I have an adjustable stromberg somewhere of you want to lean it off a bit.

...and once you have sorted out the compression problem, don't bother with the HIF44, fit a proper SU, an HS6. Piston and jet and that's it, none of the bastardisation of the lovely simplicity of the original SU that you get with an HIF - and you get that lovely mixture adjusting nut on the jet. I'm on the lookout for a pair of SUs to replace the Strombergs on my 164 and it's definitely the HS6es that I'm looking for, not HIFs.

Hi Guys, Ok so we have had a few problems with my car at the moment, the engine seems to be running on 3 cylinders and the Clutch and brakes need sorting out, so for now she is gonna come off the road. I will be getting started on the inner wings and bodywork with Jon soon. Ive also brought a rebuilt B20e from a guy off ebay, so that will be going into the car later in the year with twin Su's instead of the Fuel injection. Cheers, Robbie.
